Man Arrested for Murder & Attempted Murder in Washington Shootings

Washington Police arrested a suspect in a homicide investigation Sunday following his release from an Indianapolis Hospital.

38-year-old Abel Dubon Castillo was arrested on a Daviess Superior Court warrant for one count of Murder, two counts of Attempted Murder, Burglary, and Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon.

On Sunday, February 5th officers were called to the 1800 block of McCormick Avenue following a 9-1-1 call concerning a disturbance involving a firearm.

Three individuals in the home were shot.

58-year-old Aracely Torres was pronounced dead at the scene.

57-year-old Concepcion Rodriguez Martinez and 35-year-old Yarely Santiago Torres were hospitalized.

Dubon Castillo was hospitalized as well from injuries sustained during the incident.

The exact nature of his injuries was not released.

Washington Police maintained a 24-hour watch within the hospital to ensure Dubon Castillo was taken into custody without incident.
