Washington Police say you can expect to see increased patrols in school zones as we approach the end of the school year.
The patrols in school zones and along bus routes will observe for stop arm violations, speeding, and reckless driving when children are present.
Washington Police remind the public that the school zone speed limit is 25 m.p.h. and is in effect from 7:00. to 9:00 a.m. and from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on school days.
The increased patrols are funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
