A study put out recently from North Dakota State University says Indiana farmers have been struggling with exports thanks to tariffs with China.
The report has Indiana ranked as the 9th most affected state in terms of agricultural economic impact, suffering an over $600 million loss.
Corn and soybean farmers in Indiana were badly punched down, but the Midwest as a whole was the hardest hit.
Iowa and Illinois each experienced losses of $1.2 billion.
The report also details that Chinese tariffs reduced American agricultural exports by nearly $14.9 billion between March 2025 and February of this year.
