Visitors had to be evacuated from an Indiana zoo exhibit this week because of an escaped wildebeest.
The Fort Wayne Zoo says a male white-bearded wildebeest escaped from its habitat in the African Savanna exhibit on Friday.
Visitors had to be ushered out of the area in a calm fashion so as not to spook the animal.
The zoo says the quick actions of its team members “allowed us to secure the area and provide the wildebeest with a safe path back into his habitat.”
No injuries were reported, and the exhibit has since been reopened.
