A parasite-linked illness causing severe diarrhea continues to spread across Indiana, with nearly 1,200 cases reported.
The Indiana Department of Health said Thursday it has confirmed about 1,176 statewide cases.
Officials said the true number is likely higher because many cases go untested or unreported.
The outbreak began appearing in the U.S. in early May, according to the CDC.
Nationwide, more than 6,700 cases have been confirmed across 40-plus states.
