Hundreds of people gathered at Pike Central Middle High School for a candlelight vigil honoring Amanda Wertman and her daughter, Michaela, who died in a crash last weekend.
The vigil also supported three children injured in the crash: Theodore, Oaklie and Amelia, who are recovering in the hospital or at home.
Community members sang “Amazing Grace” and wrote get-well messages for the children.
Organizer Nikki Nalley said the event was about faith, love and supporting the families as they recover from the tragedy.
