The Indiana Supreme Court will review the 120-year sentence for convicted murderer William Grimes in December.
Grimes was convicted in May 2025 in the 2012 murder of 85-year-old Lowell Badger in Sullivan County.
Justices will decide if the Indiana Court of Appeals was correct in vacating the conviction on a charge of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.
Grimes was sentenced to 50-years for that charge and 65 for murder, with five years added for using a handgun.
