Some employees at Oakland City University say they’re preparing a class action lawsuit after going more than a month without pay.
Faculty and staff say they’ve missed multiple paychecks, and frustration is building over what they describe as repeated promises that haven’t been met.
University President Dr. Ron Dempsey told employees their missed pay would be deposited Wednesday, but later said he was “misled” about the status of the funds.
Employees say the situation has left many struggling to cover basic bills like rent, mortgages, and groceries, and say communication from the university has been unclear.
