President Donald Trump has ordered two aging Indiana coal plants to keep operating through mid-September.
The order was made to minimize energy costs and prevent blackouts from peak summer demand according to the administration.
The Northern Indiana Public Service Company, known as NIPSCO, was going to shut down the coal-powered F.B. Cully and R.M. Schahfer plants in December 2025.
