The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services sent letters to 500 hospitals nationwide asking for plans to address price transparency issues.
The list includes 34 Indiana hospitals and 21 in Illinois, including Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
The federal rule requires hospitals to publicly post pricing information in a specific format.
Greene County CEO Brenda Reetz said the hospital’s notice was tied to technical and formatting errors, which were fixed within a week.
