Two people died in a tragic crash Friday night on I-69 near the Greene River Road exit in Evansville.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says a motorcyclist was involved in a single vehicle crash.
The driver of a car stopped to assist, put on their hazard lights, and got out of their vehicle.
A third vehicle, also traveling northbound, moved into the left lane to avoid the stopped vehicle with its hazard lights activated.
That vehicle subsequently became involved in a secondary collision with both the motorcyclist and the driver who had stopped to render aid.
The crash investigation is ongoing.
