Illinois State Police have made an arrest in an Olney double homicide investigation.
25-year-old Dylan Jones of Olney is accused of killing 52-year-old John Jones Jr. and 73-year-old Deborah Jones whose bodies were found in two homes in the 400 block of East Monroe Street.
The initial investigation indicates Dylan Jones struck John Jones in the head with a sharp-edged instrument and stabbed Deborah Jones with a knife.
The coroner is conducting medical examinations to determine official causes of death.
The Richland County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged Dylan Jones with six counts of First-Degree Murder.
