Emergency management crews and the Red Cross are going door to door in Pike County, checking on families, handing out supplies and warning residents to stay away from downed power lines and unstable structures.
The National Weather Service plans to survey the damage in Pike County today.
The NWS has already confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down Wednesday afternoon in neighboring Knox County near Bruceville, with estimated peak winds of 100 miles per hour.
Emergency management agencies from surrounding counties are helping with the response.
