The Washington Police Department, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, and law enforcement officers across the state are working overtime through Monday looking for drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
They are teaming up with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute for the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
State officials say alcohol played a role in nearly 23 percent of Indiana’s traffic deaths last year — and drugs were involved in more than 41 percent.
