Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Caregiver Support Group

Jasper Memorial Hospital’s Caring Hands Senior Services sponsors an Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Caregiver Support Group. Meeting dates are the first Tuesday of every month. Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, and Providence Associates Eucharistic Liturgy

The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, and Providence Associates are inviting persons of all faith traditions to join them for the Eucharistic Liturgy at 11 a.m., on Monday, October 3, to celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, the eighth American Saint and foundress of the Sisters of Providence. The liturgy will take place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception and is open to the public.

Sisters of Providence for Fall Farm Day at the Woods

Bring the family to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and join the Sisters of Providence for Fall Farm Day at the Woods. The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m., on Sunday, October 2nd. Join the sisters during the family day filled with alpaca visits, children’s activities, hayrides, fiber demonstrations, farm and 4-H demonstrations, videos and more. Admission is free, but donations would be welcome.

Special Documentary Screening of Just Like Me: The Vietnam War/The American War

The Indiana Military Museum and George Rogers Clark National Historical Park invite you to a special documentary screening of Just Like Me: The Vietnam War/The American War on October first at 7 pm at the George Rogers Clark NHP Visitor Center in Vincennes. Following the screening there will be a brief discussion and Q/A session with director Ron Osgood and special guests.

Heart of Jasper: Dinner on Main Street Fundraiser

Heart of Jasper is hosting their second annual Dinner on Main Street fundraiser on Saturday October 1st on North Main Street in Jasper. Happy hour begins at 5:00. Dinner at 6:00. The cost is $75 per ticket or $500 for a table which includes 6 tickets and a pitcher of margaritas. Tickets can be purchased and paid for online at www.heartofjasper.org. Proceeds from this fundraiser event will be used for alley enhancements in 2023!

“Change the Life you Live: Diabetes”

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper offers a class called “Change the Life you Live: Diabetes.” These classes offer the opportunity to achieve optimal health while living with diabetes. Free Stoke Survivors Support Group

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, in conjunction with University of Louisville Health, is offering a new, FREE stroke survivors support group for stroke survivors and their family and/or caregivers. The next support group will be held on Tuesday, September 27th, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the Medical Arts Building Conference Center. Pre-registration is not required.

“Stop the Bleed”

Jasper Memorial Hospital’s Ambulance Services offers “Stop the Bleed,” an informational program focusing on the immediate response to bleeding. The next program is Tuesday, September 27th from 8:00-9:15 a.m. in the hospital’s 1st Level Conference Room. The class is free, but pre-registration is required by emailing bsherman@mhhcc.org.

Hoosier Cruisers annual “Clothe a Child” Car Show

The Hoosier Cruisers annual “Clothe a Child” Car Show will be held Saturday September 24th at Gregg Park in Vincennes. Registration will be from 9:00 AM until noon with awards handed out around 2:00 PM. Proceeds from the event go to the “Clothe a Child” community project. A tool scholarship will also be given to a 2nd year VU automotive student from Knox County.
