Diabetes Continuing Education Class

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s continuing education group for persons with diabetes, pre-diabetes, or anyone who is interested in learning about the disease meets the third Monday of each month. The topic for the September class is “Osteoporosis and Diabetes.” The next meeting will be Monday, September 20th from 5:45 – 6:45 p.m. in Memorial Hospital’s Board Conference Room B/C in the lower level, at 800 West 9th Street in Jasper.

Patoka Lake Hosting 17th annual “Wheelin’ IN the Fish”

September 18 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Patoka Lake will host its 17th annual “Wheelin’ IN the Fish” event on September 18th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Osborn boat ramp. The event is designed to highlight the accessible features of Patoka Lake for people with disabilities and their families. The event is free and includes fishing, lunch, and dessert. Fishing poles and tackle will be provided.

Heart of Jasper Farm to Table Dinner

Heart of Jasper is hosting the first annual Farm to Table Dinner on Friday September 17th on North Main Street in Jasper. Meals will be prepared with food donated from local farms. Sandborn Fall Festival

September 17 - 18

The Sandborn Fall Festival, hosted by the Sandborn Volunteer Fire Department, will be held Friday and Saturday September 17th and 18th. Friday’s hours are 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Saturday’s hours are from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM. The fire department will be serving meals for a free will donation. Free hayrides at 7:00 PM with free popcorn

COPD Educational Meeting

24 million Americans have been diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. If you or if someone you care for is living with COPD, plan to attend an educational meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 14th from 12:00-1:30 p.m. at Jasper’s Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s Mary Potter Meeting Room. The Hoosier Cruisers 2021 ‘Clothe a Child’ Cruise and Car Show will be held Saturday and Sunday September 11th and 12th at Gregg Park in Vincennes. Hindostan Days in Martin County will be held Saturday, October 2nd from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM at Hindostan Falls. The opening ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM followed by a cornhole tournament, egg tossing competition, kids activities, food and more.

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center is offering, “Change the Life you Live: Diabetes.” These classes offer the opportunity to achieve optimal health while living with diabetes. Perinatal Loss Support Group

Expectant parents who suddenly lose their child often experience a wide range of emotions and grief. Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper offers “Perinatal Loss Support” to assist those who have experienced the loss of a child through the grieving process and provide an atmosphere of confidentiality and comfort.
