Bloomfield Clean-Up Day

The Town of Bloomfield Clean-Up Day will be held Saturday, June 5th from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. At 595 Railroad Street in Bloomfield. You must live within the town limits of Bloomfield. An ID will be required. For a list of items that can be dropped off, go to the Bloomfield Police Department’s Facebook page.

Patoka Lake Kids Fishing Derby Set for June 5th

June 5 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Patoka Lake will host its annual kids fishing derby on Saturday, June 5th at the Osborn Ramp from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The event is for children 12 years old and younger, and participants must be accompanied by an adult. Families must supply their own tackle, fishing pole, and bait. An awards ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. For more information regarding this, call the Nature Center at 812-685-2447.

Check in Time for Breastfeeding Moms Support Group

June 2 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The next meeting of Jasper Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s “Check-In Time” for breastfeeding moms support group is Wednesday, June 2nd., from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Board Conference Room ABC at Memorial Hospital. Moms are encouraged to bring their baby anytime throughout the hour to get weighed and/or to bring their breast pump to check the pressure. No pre-registration is required.

Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Caregiver Support Group

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s Caring Hands Senior Services sponsors an Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Caregiver Support Group. The next meeting is Tuesday, June 1st. from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Medical Arts Conference Center at 721 West 13th Street in Jasper. Flicks at the Fort

The Vincennes State Historic Sites will be presenting Flicks at The Fort: Horror Movie Night from 8:30pm to 11pm on Saturday, May 22nd. The program will take place at the site of Fort Knox II at 30-90 North Old Fort Knox Road. The cost is $5.00 per person.

First Choice Solutions 5K Walk/Run

First Choice Solutions 5K Walk/Run event is scheduled for Saturday, May 22nd, at the Kiwanis Cabin in Eastside Park, in Washington. Registration begins at 8:30 AM, with the Walk/Run kicking off at 9:00 AM. Call the clinic at 812-257-1041 for registration forms. The registration fee is $20 for ages 15 and older, $10 for children ages 5-15, no charge for children under 5 years.

Third Thursday Free Nights at Dubois Co. Museum

The Dubois County Museum continues their Third Thursday Free Nights on May 20th with a look at a STEM project. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and with this project the museum invites all ages to construct a model kit of an Inclined Plane. The museum will be open from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. for this special night.

Flag Retirement Ceremony in Martin Co. Saturday May 15th

An American Flag retirement ceremony will be held Saturday, May 15th at 1:00 PM in Martin County. The ceremony, in honor of the American Flag and Armed Forces Day, will be held at the Martin County Community Building at the Martin County Fairgrounds at 26-66 US Highway 50 in Loogootee. Prior to the Ceremony, flags may be dropped off anytime at the Shoals or Loogootee American Legion or VFW. The public is invited to attend.

Night of Praise

“First Choice Solutions, formerly the Pregnancy Care Center, is having a Night of Praise at 6:30 on May 14th, hosted by Wheatland Christian Church located at 330 State Road 550 in Wheatland. The event will start at 6:30 and conclude at 7:45. The Wheatland Christian worship band will perform. Free will donations will be collected.
