Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana Winter Used Book Sale

The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, will host their annual Winter Used Book Sale February 17th through the 20th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The sale will take place in the Foley Room, located across the hall from Linden Leaf Gifts inside Providence Spirituality & Conference Center. Freewill donations will be accepted. Proceeds benefit the Sisters of Providence missions and ministries.

“The Science of Snow and the Water Cycle”

The Indiana DNR’s Dana Reckelhoff from Patoka Lake will discuss “The Science of Snow and the Water Cycle” on Saturday, February 18th from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Dubois County Museum. You are asked to RSVP by Thursday, February 16th to cherylsermersheim@gmail.com. There is an extra charge of $2 for program with museum admission. Open to youths in grades 2-5. Adults welcome. Take home a 3-D snowflake. Limited to 25 students.

Washington Community Schools Kindergarten Registration

February 23 - March 3

Kindergarten pre-registration for the 2023-24 school year in Washington Community Schools will take place February 23rd and 24th at Veale Elementary School and at Washington Primary on February 27th through March 3rd. Any student who will be at least five years of age on or before August 1st, 2023, is eligible. Call ahead to make an appointment.

Vincennes Education Foundation’s 2023 Rockin’ for Kids

The Vincennes Education Foundation’s 2023 Rockin for Kids will be held Saturday, February 25th from 6:00 until 11:00 PM at Adams Coliseum. This is a 21 & older event raising funds for scholarships, teacher grants & classroom needs.   There’s an auction, a meal will be provided by “Bobe-B-Que” and entertainment from the band “Eighty Sixt.” Individual tickets are $25. Stop the Bleed at MHHCC

Jasper Memorial Hospital’s Ambulance Services offers “Stop the Bleed,” an informational program focusing on the immediate response to bleeding. The next program is Tuesday, February 28th from 8:00-9:00 a.m. in the 1st Level Conference Room. The class is free, but pre-registration is required by emailing bsherman@mhhcc.org.
